The Cost of Driving

A person driving between Sugar Land and Greenway Plaza/Uptown Galleria twice every work day has a monthly driving cost of approximately $400. A vanpool or TREKEXPRESS bus passenger can make the same commute for just $80 a month.

These figures were calculated using AAA’s cost-per-mile estimate of 52.2 cents, which figures in average fuel, routine maintenance, tires, insurance, license and registration, loan finance charges and depreciation costs for an automobile that is driven 15,000 miles per year. These estimates assume a 25 mpg rating for the commuter’s vehicle, no parking costs, an average of 20 workdays per month and a cost of $2.70 per gallon gasoline. The estimates exclude loan payment.

At TREK, we can help you quickly organize a carpool for as few as two people or as many as four. If you have five or more riders, TREK offers vanpool formation assistance. Find out more about our Vanpool and Carpool Services. All you have to do is fill out an Application Form and return to us.

Fort Bend County residents can use TREKEXPRESS, our commuter bus service to Greenway Plaza and Uptown/Galleria. The Greenway bus also stops at the West Bellfort P & R, allowing riders to use METRO service to downtown and the Medical Center.

Emergency
      ride home

is our emergency ride home program for TREK Partner company employees and TREKEXPRESS passengers. services are obtained by filling out the Application. Then, if you need to leave work due to an emergency or if you have an unscheduled overtime we guarantee you a ride home.

You must live less than 75 miles from work.
